《文化的解釋》—理解一個⺠族的文化，即是在不削弱其特殊性的情況下，昭示出其常態，把他們置於他們自己的日常系統中，就會使他們變得可以理解。也就是說，人類學家在進入一個田野地時，會以當地人的視角來看待每件事情背後可能隱含的意義，使當地人的行為在不脫離其文化脈絡的情況下變得可以理解。
