Reviews

4.9 out of 5 stars from 46 ratings
  • This podcast is a gig that keeps on gagging

They are kind of insane and unhinged, but that’s how you get real answers to questions like “is Jacob collier a ladies man” and “how much do 8 bit big band sessions pay string players and what are the hours like”. I think listening to this podcast is somehow maintaining my sanity through a breakup, so it’s an automatic 5 stars. Interesting to have a deep dive into the gag world of classical music, and the many scams of civilization.

Q: Is pursuing music more about natural talent or environment and training, and how does that belief affect new musicians listening to this show?
The hosts discuss the balance between predisposition and environmental shaping, emphasizing that most ability develops through consistent practice, feedback, and opportunities to perform, rather than a pure inherent talent that emerges without effort.
