Was great until the topic of Alex Pretti was brought into the conversation. Coverage of the Minneapolis anti ICE riots is not what I wanted from this podcast. I can get that from CNN on loop. No thanks.

Thanks for another informative podcast which is such a depressing and frightening reality. Although I agree with you about both parties being responsible to some degree. What’s happening now is unprecedented in magnitude and being forced on us by Republicans. You can’t deny this or soft pedal it. We need to call it what it is a Republican land grab of public lands.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Pay Attention if Sage-grouse Disappear | Week of April 13
Q: Why should people care about sage grouse from a broader conservation perspective?
Because sage grouse are an indicator of the health of the sagebrush ecosystem; if they decline, it signals broader habitat stress that affects other wildlife and game species, including mule deer, and reflects larger landscape pressures like wildfire, invasive grasses, and habitat loss.
The Biggest Threat to Public Land in Our Lifetime | Week of June 16
Q: So why do you think Mike Lee is still sticking with this idea?
It seems to be purely ideological for him, almost religious; he's been committed to this since entering public service. Rather than compromise, he aims to maximize land grabs.
Giving Your Time for Conservation | Week of March 24
Q: Can you give us a little background on the organization and what initiated the rebrand?
Jared elaborates on how the organization evolved from 2% for Conservation to Fish and Wildlife Volunteers, responding to market needs and focusing on the importance of volunteerism in conservation.
Do We Need Them? | Fresh Tracks Weekly (Ep. 109)
Q: What do we do about the new oil and gas leases impacting wildlife?
We can advocate for Congress to ensure leases accommodate wildlife and lessen their impact on critical habitats.
Why Non-Resident Hunters Pay More | Week of May 5
Q: Do you think that the door is open for that to be challenged?
Most attorneys believe it would be a waste of time to challenge the discrimination against non-residents in hunting law.
