  • Rambling nonsense

If you were looking for a hunting podcast that comically bad on almost every topic they discuss this is it. Whether it’s conservation, firearms, cartridge selection, fitness, hunting tactics. It’s all the same nonsensical rambling.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Idaho Technology Ban, Viewer Q&A, and RMEF Big Game Days | Episode 165
Q: Should a structured hunter always stay in one spot or move to find elk?
If sign isn't present in one spot, it's better to move to new areas rather than staying put; elk can be elsewhere and moving increases the chance of finding active sign.
Idaho Technology Ban, Viewer Q&A, and RMEF Big Game Days | Episode 165
Q: What time of day are thermals most favorable in flat country with limited topography?
Thermals in flat country are variable and depend on ground-to-air temperature differences and nearby topographic features like canyons, so expect swirling movement and plan for evolving conditions rather than a fixed best time.
Elk Talking with Marcus Hockett | Episode 159
Q: Why is it important to have a hunting partner?
Having someone with you not only helps with the physical demands of packing out an elk but also provides safety in potentially dangerous areas.
Elk Talking with Marcus Hockett | Episode 159
Q: How has this year's elk hunting season been for you?
This year we didn't do very well because we were distracted with other hunting opportunities.
Elk Talking with Marcus Hockett | Episode 159
Q: What makes archery elk hunting so enjoyable for you?
Archery elk hunting is thrilling because bulls are vocal and it's fun to chase them around while they're bugling.
