  • Hello everyone, I am Sam Harrison from LA, Connecticut. I want to recommend Mr. Brian Stone and his team who has had to deal with these internet swindlers, I lost my entire savings after investing in a cryptocurrency platform, I was told I would gain huge profits from my investment not knowing they were setting me up for a huge scam. If you have had a similar experience, I strongly recommend you contact brienstone02@gmail.com or WhatsApp him +1 (336)257-8835. as they were able to recover all my ... more

  • Re-releasing old episodes

This was one of my favorite podcasts until I noticed that lately they’ve just been re-releasing old episodes under different titles. I’d love some new episodes, but if they’re just repeats then unfortunately I’ll be unsubscribing.

  • I listened to a few episodes but the program is only useful for the earliest beginners, not seasoned freelancers who are trying to scale. Each episode starts with 3 minutes of ads. The last episode I listened to was 11 minutes in before they started talking about the topic, and that included a second bank of ads. The advice was, I think, weak. They recommended joining your local Chamber of Commerce and spending $1000 to join a local networking group to find leads. These tips might be ok for ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why Clients Ignore Your Portfolio
Q: Would you use mockups for fake businesses or rely on actual past work?
They suggest leaning on actual past work with anonymized details and, if needed, include a 'My Approach' section to illustrate methodology without presenting real client outcomes; mockups can be used as examples but should not be framed as actual portfolio case studies.
Why Clients Ignore Your Portfolio
Q: What type of work did you choose to put in your portfolio when you were starting?
The guest explains that combining logos and a transparent narrative about their past work is a strong start, and that including process-focused content can help show capability without revealing confidential client information.
Don't Charge by Hour or Project. Do this...
Q: The client is open to either hourly or project-based pricing. How should I decide which option is best and how to set my rate?
Focus on value and the client's bottom-line impact rather than hours. Estimate the monetary value of solving the problem, have a conversation about outcomes, and price accordingly—use the potential revenue or cost savings as the anchor rather than time spent.
The Power of Saying "No" To Crazy Clients
Q: How do you go about delegating project work so the team can run independently without constant input or dependencies on you?
Clay emphasizes training with documentation (SOPs and step-by-step procedures), choosing the right communication format for the team, and establishing clear boundaries and decision rules so the team can operate with minimal oversight while still aligning with the company's goals.
Remove Pain from Recurring Revenue
Q: How do you find clients who are willing to pay for a recurring web design service instead of one-off projects?
Focus on prequalification, reduce friction by removing content bottlenecks, and offer a scalable monthly package that aligns with what clients actually value, such as ongoing branding and web design rather than full-blown marketing campaigns.
