  • Maybe the best podcast?

Longtime listener—love what you guys are doing. Diehards, newcomers to the sport, Olympics casual fans—everyone can enjoy FRL. Olympics coverage, JD’s leaf-in-the-beer incident, Avery Gaming somehow being a person I now indirectly know (?), and that one video where Tyler had to translate the Manga backstory for a Rei Haguchi tweet about Ono—all *chefs kiss*. Stay winning

  • Not for casual fans

This show is entertaining and informative *if* you are deep in the weeds obsessed with wrestling. These guys will talk for 20 mins, mention 60 names, not mention a school or country (for international matches) or weight class; use first or last name with no consistent pattern.

If you already know every decent wrestler and on earth it’s (probably) great. If you are a casual fan wanting to get prepped for a big event, don’t waste your time.

  • Get rid of Christine Askren.

These two should make it official. Pyles is the worst. How about hiring a legend. Not Askren! A warrior who can be respected.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

FRL 1,207 - Remembering Bobby Douglas + Ranking Series Chaos + NCAA Champ Predictions
Q: What chances Jesse Mendez has at the Olympics if he makes the team at 65 kilos?
Jesse Mendez has a very good shot at medaling if he makes the team at 65 kilos, given the depth of the weight and the performance of current contenders, but it remains contingent on his ability to navigate a competitive field and prevail through trials.
FRL 1,209 - BIG TEN PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS
Q: Will the Big Ten seeding formula hold up as the best approach going forward?
The panelists think a hybrid approach is best: keep a formula for speed and consistency but integrate human judgment to account for injuries, backups, and context that numbers miss.
FRL 1,208 - Conference Weekend Preview
Q: How do you see 125 Big 12s shaping up given the current matchups and potential allocations?
The panel discusses Jax Serrano, Larkin, Frost, and Witt as key players with a crowded field; seed outcomes depend on head-to-heads, injuries, and the seeding committee's decisions.
FRL 1,208 - Conference Weekend Preview
Q: From Slink, what guy is flying under the radar going into the post season?
Caleb Larkin is mentioned as a radar pick due to losses and under-the-radar status, with Kyler Larkin discussed as another intriguing under-the-radar name.
FRL 1,204 - Weekend Recap + These Rules Need To Change
Q: What do we make of Colm Marisola?
He shows impressive growth and could be a contender, difficult to predict stringing wins together in March.
