  • Huge wrestling fan.

This is a decent wrestling podcast. But I can’t stop cringing at the fact this guy thinks everything he says is so profound. It’s cool to have an opinion that you are passionate about. But come on guy. We as an audience are not waiting with bated breath for your takes. You act like you’re gifting us with your wisdom.

Mike - you have a good product. But from a personal perspective - I don’t really care about what you do, who you know, what your experiences are, what your son is dealing with. And I say that from a selfish standpoint.

I want to listen to your guests! They’re experience - and learn from them. I get 60 minutes to gain as much as I can from your guests and listen to every one of them.

Great podcast. love the mindset talk behind high level wrestling. Mike is a great interviewer. One critique Mike needs better sound equipment. Sounds like he’s in a closet.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 158 - Jamil Kelly
Q: How should parents approach the recruiting process beyond chasing offers and NIL money?
Parents should ask about culture, daily life, coaching style, and long-term development; they should look for real information about the environment and the people the athlete will be around, not just shiny facilities or big promises.
Ep. 154 - Peyton Hall
Q: What is the biggest difference you've seen in yourself from high school to college?
The major change was adopting a repeatable system and the belief that consistent practice and coaching structure beat raw talent alone, enabling gradual, dependable improvement rather than peaks and valleys.
Ep. 154 - Peyton Hall
Q: How did your coaching influences shape your development, and what is the role of coaching in maintaining consistency?
He credits coaches like Mitchell Port and the WV/ Edinburgh coaching lineage for instilling a steady, repeatable system and highlights how a consistent practice culture reduces surprises and builds confidence.
Ep. 154 - Peyton Hall
Q: Tell me about the mindset course and what it will offer.
Peyton explains he's building a structured mindset course that digs into why athletes get nervous, how routines can build confidence, and why a consistent, well-understood training system helps wrestlers perform at higher levels across matches and years.
Ep. 162 - Brock Hite
Q: How do you translate data into practical wrestling decisions like position choice and brick usage?
By treating data as a guide rather than a fixed rule, separating fixed variables from dynamic ones, and using scenario-specific metrics (like time on the clock and riding time) to decide when to pull a trigger on a brick or when to push for an advantageous position.
