When McShay and Kiper were on I was always frustrated there weren’t more episodes and more content. Now I find myself to be very meh about new episodes. No McShay was an obvious loss but now not even regular appearances from Mel? This pod was one of my favorites but Matt and Jordan can’t carry it like Mel and Todd used to. The fact Mel isn’t even on the pod artwork probably means they’re looking to push him out next. RIP First Draft pod.
UPDATE 5/1/26: the commercials being mixed in are abysmal... more
Ads are genuinely insane. So awful. Just not a care in the world put into this podcast from the behind the scenes people
Cheap ESPN
This is a great listen content wise but it’s hard to listen to as the ads are twice as loud as the show. I could deal with the number of ads if they weren’t so loud!
Can’t get through 2 picks in a mock draft without playing an ad… Almost makes it unlistenable due to the constant interruptions. Mel and Field know ball and I love their intel, but I’ve started to prefer other draft podcasts that don’t play ads in the middle of sentences.
