We discuss the heavy hitters of the FFVIII OST including both Find and Force Your Way, The Man With the Machine Gun, Balamb Garden, and Eyes on Me.
Drew ranks his Top 40 songs on the Final Fantasy 8 soundtrack, beginning with the bold claim that this is the best OST in the history of the franchise.
We get pretty emotional talking about one of the single most beautiful, epic, and strange, conclusions to a Final Fantasy story... or any story... ever.
We reach the late-game exposition dump of FFVIII where Laguna and Dr. Odine explain the history of Rain and Ellone and the future of Sorceress Ultimecia.

Great show so far. Just found it recently, starting from the beginning and working through it.
I just discovered this podcast while searching for content about FFV. I love this show already! The stories and characters are broken down and analyzed in a really thoughtful manner, and they’re able to link them to other forms of media that I never thought of. If you love FF, definitely give this podcast a listen!
Found the twitter account for this podcast a couple of weeks ago and now I'm writing an apple review to show some love and support. If that doesn't tell you how good this show is, I dare say nothing will. Give it a listen!
Too many podcasts suffer from negativity and shallow insights. Not so for Drew and Ira - FF Weekly gives fantastic insight into the stories, themes, characters, and politics of the various Final Fantasy games while showing appreciation for every aspect from the art to the music, the gameplay to the design, and everything in between. With backgrounds in philosophy and literature respectively, these two brothers do it like nobody else and you really need to check them out.
Anytime I get a new episode of this podcast, I start it almost immediately. The guys are just laid back, talking about their favorite franchise in RPGs, and I more often than not agree with their takes on stuff, and even when I don’t know the topic, like the early games, they’re still fun to listen to. They also talk about stuff like how various games take inspiration from or have inspired other things, and I appreciate that, too.
