  • Sharp commentary!

As I was hunting for podcasts reviewing WaT the new Sanderson book I stumbled upon you guys. I worried you would have a positive bias towards it because, well, it being bad might hurt the podcast. I do think I saw some of that in the discussion I heard about it, but was happy to have one person able to echo the critical thoughts of many.

That tension and willingness to disagree alone makes me interested in listening more!

Cannot overstate how welcome it is to get reviews for actual books. The way algorithms punish creators for any slight dip in downloads or engagement means we almost always hear about the same 3-5 franchises. How these boys cover small author new releases the same way they cover house of the dragon seasons is so rare and so necessary!

For someone like me who’s friends don’t share my love of Fantasy books this podcast satisfies my inner geek and keeps the desire to pick up new books fresh. Without podcasts likes these I might have dropped off reading altogether and missed out on some great books. Thanks Fantology.
