As a Famous Monsters fan and subscriber it was great to see this podcast available. The hosts do a good job of keeping things informative. I agree with the reviewer that complained about the low sound. That is the only con. Everything else is great! Check it out.
Iâve listened to every podcast and have really enjoyed the show. Being a subscriber to the magazine, Iâve often found that a good portion of the podcast interviews (Mark Hamill, Martin Landau) are simply audio âreprintsâ from the latest issue of FMOF. I would prefer podcast content that supplements the printed material. My biggest complaint: - someone PLEASE either turn up the volume on David Weinerâs microphone or run the audio signal through a DRC unit. Davidâs voice sinks to a very low level... more
The podcast is a fun and insightful companion to Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine. The podcast harkens back to the conversational tone of vintage FM, through interviews with major Pop Culture players and discussions between the excellent in-the-know panelists who discuss wide ranges of topics from Flash Gordon to David Bowie. I am delighted by their ability to move FM's legacy into the 21st Century, while at the same time remaning true to the spirit of the original.
I have listened to all the F.M.O.F.L. podcasts, and so far it brought me smiles to outright laughter. The round table gab sessions are filled with wise, knowledgeable, passionate souls. A feeling comes to me, of that I know this group, because what I love-they love too. The show touches many topics, just like the magazine's namesake. Which makes you want to listen to the next upcoming podcast. Please do, and enjoy.
