  • Sadly it’s just not the same

I’ve listened to the podcast from the very beginning and couldn’t wait for the next episode. Although heavy at times with difficult realities, it was great story telling and interesting stories that always resulted in reflection, great empathy, and understanding for others. Now it’s riddled with authors promoting their books and seems to have a very particular agenda. I’ve held on hoping for the show to return to its previous glory but to my disappointment it doesn’t seem that will happen. ... more

The show with Sophia talking about The Family Business...what's the name of her book? I can't find it and I don't see a link for it.

  • Family Secrets has changed to Author’s Secrets

I’ve listened to this podcast since the beginning years ago. There was a nice balance of ordinary, everyday people with their unusual secrets. Now, every podcast secret story involves an author’s manuscript or book release. This podcast has morphed into a book selling promotion. What is Dani’s reasoning? Is she being paid by the authors? I’m done, there are so many other excellent podcasts to choose from now.

  • Please link authors’ info in show notes

I can’t exactly say I “enjoy” this show, because it often can be quite heavy, but as someone whose family had a panopoly of its own secrets, I appreciate it. The tone of the show is soothing and, at its best, can be quietly cathartic. My one constructive comment is to kindly ask that Dani please link to the guests’ books in the show notes or on the episode web page. I find that I need to follow breadcrumbs dropped in the episodes to suss out enough info to actually locate and purchase the books ... more
