I am currently binging FACTS podcast and their series on excommunications during the English Reformation! Stephen and Pat are amazing!
Discussions get quite deep in the literature, but I think there is excessive bias and willful ignorance. The church fathers shouldn’t be naively trusted, like on gospel authorship. I think the discussions of the origins of Luke-Acts were overly credulous. And, sorry, the creator of the universe did not speak to two humans named Adam and Eve. It’s allegory, borrowed from other ANE myths. But if the ultimate goal is apologetics, well, I guess that makes sense of it all.
I absolutely love these shows. Interesting topics, great information, and very edifying. I am grateful to have found this podcast.
Dr. Boyce and company are fantastic. Very surprised his channel isn’t more popular. What I appreciate is that his content is so great whether you’re Catholic or Protestant
I really enjoy this podcast and always come away knowing more than beforehand. Particularly enjoyed the Council discussion and always enjoy Pat May’s contributions.

This program centers on deep dives into early Christian history, patristics, the canon, and textual criticism, often pairing scholarly method with accessible conversation. Episodes routinely compare Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant perspectives, examine church history, and unpack how ancient manuscripts and Traditions shape modern understandings of Scripture. A notable strength is its willingness to challenge conventional narratives with primary sources and historiography, while foregrounding practical faith questions such as liturgy, sacraments, and ecclesial authority. The format typically features two steady co-hosts, with guests adding diverse viewpoints, and maintains a tone that aims to be rigorous yet conversational for a broad fai... more
