Failing musician and music-lover Michael Mansour dissects a different album every week and an entire discography once a month. ALL their albums…even the ones they wish you forgot. On those episodes, Mike picks that artist's best and worst albums, in addition to his personal favorites and least favorites. He's also sometimes joined by musician and music journalist Tom Osman, his brother Robert, and... more

Today we're discussing the legendary Forever Changes by Love. We're also doing a deep dive into the tragic story of singer and main songwriter Arthur Lee. Forever Changes is widely considered one of the best albums ever made, but it was a massive fai... more
This week we're discussing every album by Squirrel Bait. Formed in Louisville in the early 80s, Squirrel Bait was a huge influence on what would eventually become emo. While their sound is far closer to Washington DC emo-core bands like Rites of Spri... more

This podcast isnt terrible, it’s pretty standard fare: Two guys who really like music and do a shallow dive into every album an artist does.
Because they cover some bands I really like a lot, I was willing to overlook the two-guys-riffing-it approach that I normally stay away from, but the first crack in the wall was the Black Flag episode where there were enough misconceptions shared that a few times I thought, “I should be telling these guys about Black Flag, not the other way around.”

This is hands down one of my favorite podcasts. I listen to every episode regardless of the band. I've been listening for a couple years. When I saw that I hadn't written a review I got on doing so. I've gotten turned onto bands I had never heard of and artists I knew existed but hadn't given a chance (D'Angelo) Check these dudes out. Also the episodes with the brother. 11 out of 10. Would recommend
Absolutely the best music podcast I’ve ever heard. I’ve been introduced to so many bands I never would have heard of because of this podcast. I’ve also heard honest, comprehensive reviews of albums I would never have known existed! Mike & Alex are fun to listen to, and pretty swell guys as well.
I’m all about great podcasts that celebrate music with good critique and the depth of knowledged to draw you in to every episode. But unfortunately, these guys, cannot make a consistent thought in anything they talk about on their podcast. In fact their dialogue goes revolves around “great f’ing song” or “boring song” and goes nowhere for over an hour. Seriously reconsider how you approach drawing listeners in next time…it’s time to move out of the 3rd grade.
I like the concept of this podcast but each episode would be half its current length if the boys didn't pepper their commentary with an F bomb every five seconds. Nonstop swearing is not a mark of intelligent people -- sorry lads.
