  • Worth a listen if you’re metal attuned!

The work put into this podcast is highly visible just by listening to one episode. I highly appreciate the effort put in to link Aussies to overseas artists, the promotion of gigs/bands within Australia & the honesty/humour is also quite enjoyable. Bonus points for men discussing how they feel publicly about their art to share with others. Would love to see more female artists interviewed! Keen to hear more 🤘

  • Not a podcast

Is this a radio show? Yes.

This isn’t a podcast and shouldn’t be called one. The questions are not insightful or interesting (podcasts are these things). The questions are the boring, same same that every single press/magazine/radio asks.

Don’t waste your time with this mind numbing, waste of a show.

Please stop making this pointless show.

  • THIS GUY REALLY KNOWS HIS METAL!!!

METAL FANS, THIS IS OUR GUY!!! Just when I thought we'd never get another Andrew Haug or Costa Zouliou, Nev comes along! This dude knows his stuff! It's good to finally hear an interviewer with the knowledge and love of the genre that's currently missing from most metal radio shows and podcasts. THIS BLOKE CLEARLY WALKS THE WALK!

POISON THE WELL: Ryan Primack Talks Peace in Place, Australian Tour & The Opposite of December
Q: How have the new songs been to play live compared with older material?
They're fun and challenging, not always easy, but positively energizing to perform live; even when mistakes happen, the experience feels worthwhile and exciting as the band tightens its live execution.
POISON THE WELL: Ryan Primack Talks Peace in Place, Australian Tour & The Opposite of December
Q: What are you looking forward to most about getting back to Australia?
Revisiting favorite venues, reconnecting with great staff and audiences, and celebrating the legacy of the records in a live setting, particularly with the opportunity to perform a full playthrough of a landmark album.
POISON THE WELL: Ryan Primack Talks Peace in Place, Australian Tour & The Opposite of December
Q: How did working with Will Putney differ from working with Steve Ebbets, and what did each producer bring to the record?
Both producers offered adventurous approaches but in different modes: Steve gave the band room to explore and take risks with a less self-aware lens, while Will pushed for a more self-aware, cohesive, and structure-focused direction that still embraced experimentation.
POISON THE WELL: Ryan Primack Talks Peace in Place, Australian Tour & The Opposite of December
Q: What did you draw inspiration from and what were your big influences coming into this album?
We drew from the unbridled urgency of our youth, mixed with the wisdom of our later years, and we referenced our own catalog to shape a sound that sits between aggression and maturity, while staying true to the band's core vibe.
FALLUJAH: Kyle Schaefer Talks Xenotaph, Australian Tour & Vocal Health
Q: What was the wildest thing you saw in Australia during the last tour, and what stood out to you this time around?
Kyle describes Australia's nightlife and the distinct experiences in Brisbane, including the mean streets guidance and the excitement of returning with Obscura, while noting their prior wildlife encounters and the overall vibe of the country versus Europe and the States.
