I wholeheartedly love this podcast. I don’t have any music instruction but have always been fascinated by Mahler and couldn’t put to words why, but this podcast, one symphony/movement at a time is filing those gaps, for which I’m grateful.
Thank you for this podcast , I’m learning so much , having listened to Mahlers music for many years.
I had no idea there was so much documentation, from Mahler himself and from others , about what it all means and about the thoughts, feelings and visions he wanted to set to music. Fascinating!
This podcast follows the storylines of Mahler's symphonies while adding very relevant and interesting background information. The way it is put together is very easy to follow and fun to listen to and adds a whole new dimension to Mahler's symphonies. Whether you're an avid classical music fan, a performer, or just getting in to it, this podcast is a great listen and I cannot recommend it enough. Looking forward to future seasons!
Great podcast, even if you think you know Mahler (read related books past 30 years)…includes some wonderful insights from scholars and worlds leading musicians and conductors. Loved every episode. Hope they cover remaining symphonies, especially #5. Thank You to everyone involved
