With book 2 drawing to a close, I figured it was past time to give my official review of this podcast. I discovered it when I followed Rach on twitter last summer, and thought to myself, “I’m already this deeply invested in a show I’ve loved since I was 8 years old, might as well immerse myself in it even more.” Rather foolishly I must admit, I thought I couldn’t love ATLA more, but this podcast has increased my appreciation for the show tenfold. I love this podcast so much! Rach and Rebecca do a fantastic job recapping each episode but also providing insight to the characters and plots of the show. I've listened to a lot of avatar podcasts that don't know everything and get things wrong and as a avatar fan myself it's frustrating when I know more than the hosts. I never have to worry about this with ember island sayers. They do their research and really take the time to look into themes of the show.
I also love the perspective of havin... more
This is absolutely one of my favorite podcasts and I look forward to each episode weekly. Avatar was my favorite childhood show and since it’s resurgence on Netflix I was looking for a podcast to dive deeper into the episodes and Ember Island Sayers definitely does that.
Season 1 of this podcast had a great blend of light hearted fun and information. I can’t wait for Rebecca and Rach to go over book 2 and 3 with all the new characters and backstory. They made going over season 1 so fun to list... more
ATLA is one of my favourite shows, I’ve tried before to find a podcast that watches through the entirety of it offering analysis. Ember Island Sayers is exactly what I wanted. Not only to the hosts offer thoughtful insight into the characters and themes of the series but they are engaging and lively.
I recommend this to anyone who has either seen or not seen the show before. One of the hosts is new to ATLA so the podcast is spoiler free. This also gives fresh perspective to anyone who is doing ... more
