  • She backs up the word of wisdom with science

She uses science to explain the inspiration behind the word of wisdom and how it makes sense!

And she’s willing to have those conversations that most LDS aren’t willing to have when it comes to the word of wisdom! I really appreciate her insight!

  • Just what I needed!

Plant based eating and the Word of Wisdom has been on my heart for a few years now, but every time I started I would get overwhelmed and fall off the wagon! Ali’s low and slow approach is just what I needed! I also love the recipe on her blog and YouTube channel! Everyone has been a hit with the family so far! I look forward to her weekly episodes! It’s just what I need to give me that boost of motivation to keep going when I get discouraged!

Hormones, Protein, Stress Oh My! What the Wellness Industry Isn't Telling You to Feel Like You Again
Q: Is it necessary to follow a strict 40-day jumpstart or can I start smaller?
The program offers a guided starter (the 40-day Jumpstart) but also emphasizes starting with small, manageable changes and leveraging community support for long-term adherence.
He Thought He Was Healthy--Then He Had a Stoke (My husband's side of the story)
Q: What was the hospital experience like and how did it influence your view on nutrition and recovery?
The hospital process was chaotic at first, with conflicting signals about whether I was having a stroke, followed by a diagnosis and a long period of tests. The medical team provided general heart-healthy guidelines, but our personal turn to plant-forward eating and weight management began after leaving the hospital and diving into literature, which reshaped our approach to food and health.
He Thought He Was Healthy--Then He Had a Stoke (My husband's side of the story)
Q: Tell us what happened on October 1st, 2019 from your perspective.
I experienced sudden visual disturbances while working, including double vision and a sensation of things being off, which led me to seek EMT help and eventually hospital evaluation where doctors questioned, then confirmed, a stroke after further testing. The experience highlighted how swiftly symptoms can evolve and how important it is to seek timely care.
I asked Dr. Greger Controversial Questions I Really Wanted Answered
Q: What is the healthiest approach to meat if one chooses to eat some on occasion?
The guidance is to treat meat more as a flavoring than a centerpiece, favor ultra-lean options like wild game when possible, and keep meat consumption minimal in order to minimize saturated fat and cholesterol while focusing on plant-based foods for most meals.

Q: What restaurants do you seek out when you are on the road?
Dr. Greger explains he prioritizes places where he can control ingredients and portions, often choosing build-your-own salad spots, vegetarian-friendly chains, or places with abundant vegetables and minimal added salt, sugar, and fat to maintain a plant-forward diet even while traveling.
