If you only know Talk Talk for their ‘80s night staple “It’s My Life,” you might well wonder what an experimental weirdo like Mike is doing hosting an episode about them. However, if you know a little more about their strange and fascinating career t... more
Due to some technical difficulties, we had to push back our Talk Talk episode, so to fix the hole in our schedule we are talking about the Beatles again! We've discussed covers of Beatles songs before, but there are millions of them so there will alw... more
We all know that Elton John is a top-tier singles artist, but he is also a top-tier albums artist. His run of nine albums from Empty Sky in 1969 through Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy in 1975 may very well be unmatched in modern music hi... more
Well, sit right down, my wicked son, and let us tell you a story, about the subject of this year’s Discord & Rhyme holiday episode: the Pixies! (Or technically, just Pixies.) Hailing from Boston, the alternative rock quartet dealt with mounting intra... more

The hosts are really knowledgeable and make insightful analysis of albums and what makes songs great. Great podcast for serious music fans that’s completely accessible to everyone.
Something I hate about rock music critics is they tend to be negative about everything. The hosts of Discord and Rhyme love the music they talk about, and that love comes through. The choice is eclectic (perhaps too many Moody Blues episodes) and they normally find something interesting to say. A good mix of characters.
This is one of my top three rock/music podcasts to listen to. I started early when the show had its growth and it has been fun to listen to the audio chemistry developing. At first, I could only distinguish the babe, Amanda. It helped that we had similar tastes (but I’m still disappointed that she doesn’t like Neil or Bob). (I didn’t know anyone else who even knew of Ms. Sam Philips.). All the guys seemed interchangeable, but the dry humor of Ben Marlin made me take note. Now, they’re almost li... more
I stumbled upon this banger of a podcast while searching for a Their Satanic Majesties Request podcast or a Mr. Bungle podcast idk I forget. All I know is it was and still is one of the most interesting and informative podcasts I’ve ever heard and I have been a big fan ever since! One of them even said they don’t like Animal Collective and I’m still listening, that’s saying something! Cheers to D&R!
A long running treasure. A very well produced show with an articulate, good humored crew, all passionate and knowledgeable about music. Considering the glut of crappy music podcasts out there hang on to this one!
