  • Extremely US chauvinistic

Very American so takes as a given US good, China and Russia bad. With that caveat it can be informative— but annoyingly onesided.

Just listened to an old 2020 episode about Russian and Chinese misinformation in US election. All good and fair. But no mention of the many times the US government has used misinformation to upset foreign elections. A comprehensive discussion about misinformation and electoral meddling globally would have been much more useful.

My advice: do listen to this. But ha... more

  • Always a Conversation-Starter

One of the things I appreciate most is not just that I walk away a little bit smarter after each episode, but that I have an unexpected conversation-starter in hand. Great stuff!

Historian Lindsay Chervinsky on the Monroe Doctrine & John Quincy Adams | America at 250
Q: So where does the Monroe Doctrine actually stem from, and what were the pressures that led to its formulation?
Lindsay explains that the Doctrine emerged from a confluence of Russian expansion concerns, British interests, and the independent movements of Latin American republics. Adams urged a stance that protected hemisphere sovereignty without overly committing the United States to entangling alliances, framing a policy of non‑intervention and regional influence.

Q: What do you think would be your sort of top one or two recommendations on how to move forward with your strategy?
Reaffirm the importance of allies in our grand strategy and restore a framework of values for U.S. foreign policy.
Democrazy in Venezeula with Ambassador Jimmy Story
Q: Do you see any changes happening in Venezuela after Maduro?
Despite Maduro's departure, the regime remains and changes on the ground are slow.
Democrazy in Venezeula with Ambassador Jimmy Story
Q: What do you see as the evolution of the Trump administration policy towards Venezuela?
The focus shifted from democracy and human rights to oil and natural resources.
Michael Kimmage: Will Russia's War in Ukraine End Soon?
Q: What should the US approach be regarding negotiations and policy in Ukraine?
The US should focus on containing Russian military power and integrating Ukraine into European structures, emphasizing collaboration with European partners.
