  • Highly recommend!

This podcast is so much more than just a leadership podcast.. it’s a moment of lightness and self-discovery. Digby does an incredible job of asking questions of the interviewee that prompt profound observations in the listener. Well, it did for me, anyway. It’s a bit like therapy for ourselves at work! In a good way. Fascinating, thought-provoking and warm. Thank you!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

[Interview] Naming Your Patterns, Befriending Fear, and Reclaiming Choice | Dr. Amy Silver
Q: How can listeners practically start changing patterns in real life?
Start by naming a pattern, then identify one small experiment to run at the next choice point; prepare in advance with alternative thoughts and grounding techniques, and view patterns as adjustable rather than fixed identities.
[Interview] Naming Your Patterns, Befriending Fear, and Reclaiming Choice | Dr. Amy Silver
Q: What sparked your interest in patterns and fear, and how did your background shape your current work?
Amy explains that her clinical psychology training, including formulation work, showed how patterns function as recipes for behavior; recognizing these patterns allows for self-compassion and deliberate action rather than self-blame, which in turn enables teams and individuals to experiment with new responses.
[Interview] How to Measure What Matters, and the Gift of Legacy | Grant Yonge
Q: When you first said yes to the role, what did you believe impact to be about, and how did you discover that?
Grant explains that the initial literal sense of impact was unclear; the commitment was to be rigorous, evidence-informed, and to discover what real impact means by engaging with data, stories, and continuous improvement, rather than relying on participation metrics alone.
[Interview] Intergenerational Healing, Translation, and the Courage to Lead | Christian Penny
Q: What are we lacking in leadership at the moment, and how do these ideas address that gap?
The lack is often a missing language and framework to connect people, with an emphasis on emergent leadership, hosting rather than hero leadership, and using small, local cells of practice to scale impact.
[Interview] Intergenerational Healing, Translation, and the Courage to Lead | Christian Penny
Q: Tell us a little about what you're seeing and what you're working on now.
Christian describes translating Indigenous Māori leadership approaches into mainstream practice, emphasizing presence and relational leadership over top-down control, and applying these ideas to high-performance sport and corporate settings.
