  • Just brilliant

What an amazing insight from people in the know, leading up to the best interview I’ve heard with PW, not the usual questions which I’m sure he’s sick of.

The episode with Tufty had me spitting my coffee out, just brilliant

  • The Best F£&@ing Podcast in the World

I’ve followed this series from episode 1, being a fellow Weller obsessive. Dan has such an easy way of mining nuggets of pure PW gold from the people that know him the best. Episode 180 is the pinnacle; I read/watched/listened to virtually every PW interview, and I can’t ever recall PW being so relaxed and open. Dan, thank you for your unwavering dedication and ultimate professionalism. PS Dan, can I order a signed copy of the book and nab a seat at the film premiere please?

Stuart Deabill - In the Shadow of the Sun – Paul Weller & the Nineties
Q: May 1997, The Ultimate 90s Double High—can you take us through that story and why it stands out in the book?
It was a milestone moment that combined football fandom, a live show, and personal highs with a sense of communal celebration; being there and witnessing the merging of music and sport in a single afternoon made it one of the most vivid memories and a perfect example of how personal experiences intertwine with the decade's music culture.

Q: What year would that have been? You remember, Malcolm, or even the song? You know, what was it? Going Underground.
Gerrie explains that Going Underground was the track that solidified his memory of the Jam's early era and marked the moment when he realized the potential of booking them for a UK network show, despite the band's initial reservations about TV.
Simon Napier-Bell - Talks NOMIS Studios, Paul and John Weller...
Q: What bit of advice would you give to someone writing an oral history or autobiography in this space?
