I went for a walk and listened to an audiobook of Walking by Thoreau like you suggested
I enjoy!
Ken Layne is a treasure! First introduced to him through one of the Desert Oracle survival guides at a home I was staying at in Yucca Valley. If you love the desert as much as I do, then Ken is the perfect guide. Navigating you through all the strangeness and beautiful desolation that this vast land has to offer. Storytelling at it’s finest!
Big fan of the show. Funny, interesting and relaxing. I often tee up two or three episodes to drift off at night. Keep up the great work, Ken!
I recently relocated to Joshua Tree (in the fall of 2024) and my favorite thing to do is drive through the desert listening to Desert Oracle Radio! I love living in Joshua Tree and listening to Ken Layne’s stories and observations completes the experience. I love the music by RedBlueBlackSilver as well – perfectly compliments the storytelling.
