  • A must listen!

This podcast has quickly become my favorite clinical resource. Come for the clinical pearls and evidence based discussion these three provide, but stay for the self-proclaimed mediocre comedy that makes the podcast good fun. Highly recommend! Please don’t stop.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Regenerative Derm: Baloney or Breakthrough?
Q: When should a patient consider hormone optimization in the context of menopause, and what are the key safety considerations?
Earlier is generally better if symptoms warrant it; the conversation emphasizes that older concerns about hormones have evolved with safer, bioidentical, often transdermal options, and that risks such as clotting are tied to specific formulations, making clinician selection and monitoring crucial.
Regenerative Derm: Baloney or Breakthrough?
Q: Dr. Hill, what is regenerative medicine as opposed to aesthetics and longevity in practical terms?
Regenerative medicine focuses on restoring tissue function and structure, often requiring more advanced interventions like stem cells or tissue scaffolds, and is distinct from mere anti-aging or cosmetic improvements; it may overlap with longevity goals but has a fundamental tissue-repair aim.
Tissue Issues: A Deep Dive into Cutaneous Connective Tissue Disease
Q: How does Ducravicitinib perform relative to other biologics in these studies?
Across analyses, Ducravicitinib tended to show higher odds of reaching CLAISI-50 compared with placebo and often outperformed some comparators like Eustachinumab, though dose, study design, and sample size influenced outcomes.
Tissue Issues: A Deep Dive into Cutaneous Connective Tissue Disease
Q: What does CLAISI-50 represent in cutaneous lupus trials?
CLAISI-50 refers to at least a 50% improvement in the Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Area and Severity Index, focusing on active skin disease rather than the damage portion; it is a standard endpoint used to gauge meaningful clinical response.
Outside the Box for Atopic Dermatitis
Q: What do you practically tell people to do regarding diet?
Dr. Lio mentions that eczema connects with the gut, but they typically can't reach the gut directly in treatments, emphasizing holistic approaches.
