  • Bias affecting reporting

I appreciate them taking the time to repeat facts that need repeating all while remaining entertaining. And then in the same episode they will repeat false information and dramatic headlines that align with their personal biases. Steve and Liam get excited and feed off each other’s energy. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Military drone racing, FPV integration and warfare trends, with Wing Commander Keirin Joyce
Q: Why is FPV drone training considered valuable for future warfare, and how does it fit into the broader defence strategy?
FPV drone training provides rapid, hands-on tactical skills that transfer to reconnaissance, targeting, and combat support; it also supports informal modernization by leveraging civilian tech to strengthen the force, aligning with broader defence priorities around robotics, autonomy, and cross-service capability development.
Military drone racing, FPV integration and warfare trends, with Wing Commander Keirin Joyce
Q: What does a career path from drone racing look like within the ADF, and how can pilots transition to official drone operator roles?
The path exists across the three services, with opportunities in Air Force for flying advanced UAS like Triton, Navy UAV units, and Army regiments dedicated to UAS operations; however, most pilots come from hobbyist backgrounds and gradually transition into service roles, with a large emphasis on transferable skills and ongoing training.
How PowerWater's CISO embeds cyber security into business strategy from day 1
Q: What is the practical approach to embedding cybersecurity from day one of strategy development?
Involve cyber security considerations in the initial business case, architecture decisions, and procurement processes, and cultivate cyber champions across the BAUs to ensure security is part of ongoing strategy and governance.
How PowerWater's CISO embeds cyber security into business strategy from day 1
Q: How do you communicate cybersecurity risk to boards in a way that resonates with business leaders?
Translate risk into business consequences, such as potential disruption to essential services, safety issues, regulatory exposure, and financial impact, and present it as a decision-making pathway rather than a list of threats.
SPOTLIGHT: Subs may be the centrepiece – but infrastructure, workforce and sovereign capability will decide the outcome, with Stantec's Chris Waywell, Rob Sansbury and Robert Fogel
Q: What does nuclear readiness entail for Australia in the Aukus context?
It centers on organizational readiness, skilled personnel, appropriate culture, physical infrastructure, and independent oversight to ensure safe operation and regulation of nuclear propulsion rather than weapons or deterrence.
