  • Bias affecting reporting

Some episodes are better than others. Steve and Liam do a great job of discussing the spread of misinformation and disinformation through our communities, providing examples and some sound discussion. I appreciate them taking the time to repeat facts that need repeating all while remaining entertaining. And then in the same episode they will repeat false information and dramatic headlines that align with their personal biases. Steve and Liam get excited and feed off each other’s energy. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

CYBER UNCUT: Genetec's Mathieu Chevalier on tricking AI and what Claude Mythos really means for the industry
Q: Could you walk us through that detour with the T-shirt prompt and how it demonstrates prompt injection?
Mathieu explains that prompting tricks can cause AI to ignore or misidentify people in images, illustrating why human oversight is critical and why designers must anticipate such indirect prompt injections.
Australia's first 3D printed autonomous USV, with Josh Wigley and Harry Hubbert
Q: Can we talk about the capabilities, range, and intended purposes such as ISR or potential weaponization?
The USV is designed for up to 40 knots with a cruising speed around 30 knots and a potential range of about 200 kilometers; applications include ISR, minehunting, and surveillance, with careful consideration given to safety and appropriate mission use.
Australia's first 3D printed autonomous USV, with Josh Wigley and Harry Hubbert
Q: Can you both tell me a little bit about your part in the project?
Hyperion produced the hull using 3D printing and assembled it into a 4.6-meter boat, while Greenroom Robotics supplied the autonomous software platforms that control navigation and decision-making onboard.
CONTESTED GROUND: Australia and the West must ask themselves new questions in the face of the modern world, with Robbin Laird
Q: What's the one thing we're not talking about that we should be?
The AI revolution and its practical integration into both the economy and defense; governments must move beyond long-term promises and demonstrate tangible, near-term results while aligning defense needs with AI-enabled capabilities.
CYBER UNCUT: AI security woes, Aussie schools caught in international breach, and ThreatLocker's Rob Allen
Q: Can you explain the core difference between ThreatLocker's model and traditional security tools?
ThreatLocker moves away from trust-by-default and containment after the fact, instead enforcing guardrails and denying by default, which reduces the need for constant end-user intervention and improves security posture.
