  • Entertaining but stay in shallow waters

It’s a fun listen for the most part but the Eyes Wide Shut episode made me realize subjects of any depth are out of their league. The host worked SO hard to persuade for her position and the guest was such a flimsy resource that it came across as a commercial episode, not journalism. Stopped listening after that.

  • Rolling Eyes Podcast

Seems weird to claim “rolling eyes” wasn’t common until 1987 when Marsha Brady was well known to roll her eyes on the Brady Bunch, Daffy Duck was well known to roll his eyes at Bugs Bunny, like c’mon what kind of research is that? Otherwise… great podcast

  • Great premise, good topics, terrible delivery

I wish I could enjoy this podcast. Fun trivia about regular everyday things? Sounds like a great concept. And I’ve listed to all the episodes this far, but I’ve gotten increasingly frustrated with its delivery. Willa’s vocal affectations are so distracting and frustrating. It sounds like she’s trying to stretch it out to meet some kind of time limit, and over-enunciates and over-emphasizes every word while putting too much of a pause between every. single. word. She’s far too aware of herself an... more

  • tone is over the top

I think the subject matter is interesting but I personally feel that the hosts tone is over the top I find it distracting and unnecessarily dramatic. I guess this is personal preference but I don't wanna feel like I'm listening to the news broadcaster or talk about prune juice.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

No Pulp: The Killing of the Florida Orange
Q: What caused the Florida orange industry to decline so rapidly?
A combination of citrus greening disease infecting all trees, climate events like hurricanes spreading the pest, a housing boom that reduced available grove land, and long-term farming practices such as glyphosate usage that weakened trees, all converging with market and development pressures.
Who Was Lonelygirl15?
Q: What impact did the reveal have on the cast and team?
Jessica Rose faced intense public fallout while others leveraged the moment to pursue opportunities in Hollywood; the team shifted to more traditional media paths and the project evolved into spin-offs and ongoing business efforts.
Who Was Lonelygirl15?
Q: How did the creators respond to the growing suspicion that the reality was staged?
They initially maintained the appearance of authenticity, monitored fan reactions, and eventually acknowledged that the project was a crafted fiction, while defending it as art and a storytelling experiment.
Who Was Lonelygirl15?
Q: What was the core idea behind Lonelygirl15 and how did it begin?
The idea was to create the most famous YouTuber by starting with a relatable teen diary in a bedroom, then gradually introducing darker elements to hook viewers and expand into a larger media project, including a potential film.
Making Coal Cute Again
Q: What has been the public reaction to Coalie?
Coalie has received a satirical and critical reception on social media, being viewed as propaganda for the coal industry.
