  • Love the podcast but….

I’m listening to this podcast since last year. And I love the topics getting covered, they are different from regular news podcasts.

Now let’s come the but part. Sometimes the podcast becomes too monotonous and difficult to concentrate on the topic. We definitely need some pauses or voice modulations.

  • My go to news podcast

Been a listener of DB since 2022. Snigdha and Rahael are doing a phenomenal job in bringing the right news that tech professionals like me deserve to know. The duo does their best to simplify the analysis without dumbing down.

  • Good news podcast, but too much bloat before and after news

The news stories are good. Casual discussions around big stories in the country.

However constant sale messages of events, music outro intro is too much.

  • AI DRIVEN CONTENT

A lot of the voice overs are AI driven. This is not appreciated.

Also a lot of the facts are not true especially the podcast on Doctors, Healthcare and Pharma. They are very very biased.

How some RBI-licensed NBFCs charge 600% interest and stay legal
Q: You say, all someone would need is some money, the right playbook and a questionable conscience. Could you tell us why questionable conscience?
Mutasim explains that the class of NBFCs leverages a high-speed, low-diligence loan model that prioritizes quick disbursement and aggressive marketing over responsible underwriting, creating a permissive environment for predatory pricing and coercive collection practices.
From Bengaluru to Mumbai to Pune, metro projects are colliding with India’s monsoons
Q: What exactly happened on the day of the April hailstorm and why is it significant for understanding metro-related flooding?
The hailstorm coincided with collapsed walls and deaths, underscoring how sudden extreme weather can expose the vulnerabilities created by construction near drainage systems and highlight the deeper governance gaps in planning and preparedness.
Miss a smartphone EMI, and your lender can now wirelessly strip the ‘smart’ out of it
Q: Why did the RBI ban this practice, and what were the immediate consequences for borrowers and lenders?
The RBI banned remote disablement due to invasions of privacy and coercive recovery practices; as a result, delinquencies rose and lending slowed dramatically, with many devices going off the market again.
Miss a smartphone EMI, and your lender can now wirelessly strip the ‘smart’ out of it
Q: How did this recovery tool actually work in practice for borrowers like Naresh the Rapido driver?
It remotely locked or disabled the phone if EMI payments were missed, effectively turning the phone into a secured asset and pressuring borrowers through loss of income and access to essential services.
Google is now Andhra Pradesh's first private electricity company. You'll be paying for that
Q: Why was the deemed distribution license considered necessary for Google and the Andhra Pradesh government?
To meet Google's enormous power needs and enable direct sourcing from generators, bypassing the state DISCOM, which could make the data centers viable while potentially shifting tariff and subsidy dynamics in the state.
