  • Intellectually stimulating

This show is full of interesting concepts and the conversations aren’t full of advanced academic jargon like a lecture or seminar would be. So they are easy to digest.

My only issue is that I listen to this while at work on construction sites. I wonder if yall could turn up the reference volume to make it easier to hear. Please and thank you!

You Can’t Afford to Lose Your Curiosity w/ Hank Green
Q: What is a question that you wish that you would have asked yourself sooner?
Why am I doing this?
What If We Could Control Pain w/ Neuroscientist Lindsay Ejoh
Q: What does an ideal future society look like regarding pain management?
In a perfect future, chronic pain could be eliminated without loss of sensory protection, offering easier routes to pain relief through natural mechanisms, reducing emotional distress related to pain.
What If We Could Control Pain w/ Neuroscientist Lindsay Ejoh
Q: Is the placebo effect real?
Yes, the placebo effect is established and can significantly affect how pain is perceived by triggering natural pain-relieving chemicals in the body.
What If We Could Control Pain w/ Neuroscientist Lindsay Ejoh
Q: Can you tell us more about how that even works though? So it's like you inject a virus in a mouse's brain in order to understand how it perceives pain?
Yes, by using engineered viruses to alter specific brain cells, we aim to understand and manipulate pain responses in pain-sensitive cells and observe changes in pain behavior.
Rebuilding the Human Body w/ Suh the Scholar, Ph.D.
Q: What is one question that you wish you would have asked yourself sooner?
I wish I had asked myself earlier in life what it was I wanted out of life, as I feel it would have taken pressure off me and guided my decisions, especially as a scientist.
