  • First interview review

Podcast off to a good start with an excellent interview with David Herle that provided more depth of analysis than we usually see on Canadian politics. As for Herle's reference to the Pew Research Center as a great data source and the absence of anything like it in Canada - please consider the Environics Institute for Survey Research, which has been doing similar work (if at a smaller scale) about Canadians for about 20 years. In some cases this Institute has consciously mirrored Pew surveys an... more

  • First show

Starting the first show with intersectional misandry is disappointing - hopefully one day the host realizes that men r human deserve rights dignity and attention on their issues. Needs improvement.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How did Heated Rivalry deke the culture wars? ft. Justin Ling
Q: Did you watch heated rivalry?
Yes, with enthusiasm; it was seen as a significant cultural moment in Canada that sparked discussions about the right-wing information ecosystem.
What's the matter with Liberals? ft. David Herle
Q: What kind of leader would best help the Liberals rebuild credibility in the near term?
A hybrid leader who can attract credible candidates, mobilize organizational strength, and articulate a real opportunity-focused policy platform while presenting a safe, centrist image to reassure voters about economic security.
What's the matter with Liberals? ft. David Herle
Q: Is there room for a centrist liberal party in provincial politics?
The evidence suggests limited room outside places like Ontario; most provinces lean toward two-party configurations (left and right), with centrism struggling to maintain a durable base without broad, tangible economic opportunity that transcends elite demographics.
What's the matter with Liberals? ft. David Herle
Q: What do you see as the core reason the Liberals are underperforming in provincial races despite federal strength?
Provincial dynamics differ, and long reins of federal governments tend to compress provincial wings; plus centrist parties struggle to sustain a broad base when regional issues diverge, requiring a shift toward an 'opportunity agenda' that resonates with working- and middle-class voters.
