  • Best debate show

I love this show, apart from the wasted fun question at the end, it’s a really good debate and Iain controls and is fair with the chance to answer questions for each panelist.

Absolutely shambolic episode. Poorly managed and out of control. Just a shouting match.

  • Too much of same

Rarely enough balance in this . Where are business people or commentators to inform or challenge to orthodoxy ? Same bland “rent a panel” of commentators often ill informed on key issues of day and second rate MPs too often with occasional interesting voice but all too rare

Love the guests and the style of the podcast. Iain Dale is fair, but he doesn't let guests spin, he checks them as they are talking.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Catherine West, Zoe Gardner, Ian Birrell & Robin Swann
Q: Why on earth should we send our very limited military to put boots on the ground in Ukraine?
We need a conversation on how Europe can protect itself from Russian aggression instead of focusing on sending troops, which might not have any impact.
Catherine West, Zoe Gardner, Ian Birrell & Robin Swann
Q: Should Trump be impeached?
Impeachment wouldn't mean anything to Trump as he's now operating in a space where it's all about him, and he changes the system to favor him.
Andrew Rosindell, Ben Maguire, Dr Tessa Dunlop & Samuel Kasumu
Q: Did the panel all clap the carers back in the COVID years? In light of what they're doing this week, do they regret doing so?
The panel acknowledged clapping for NHS staff during COVID, but the discussion revealed differing views on the significance of that support against the current backdrop of strikes by junior doctors.
Charlotte Nichols, Sarah Bool, Baroness Jenny Jones & Guto Harri
Q: With the announcement today that UK students can take part in vocational programmes at European universities under the Erasmus Plan, is this just further proof that we are at some point heading back into the European Union?
Guests discuss their views on rejoining the Erasmus Scheme, highlighting both opportunities and concerns regarding potential future ties with the EU.
Charlotte Nichols, Sarah Bool, Baroness Jenny Jones & Guto Harri
Q: Should young Brits be expected to sign up for national service and defend the country?
The panelists discuss the implications of conscription, with Charlotte Nichols expressing hope that it never becomes necessary, while emphasizing that young people should be encouraged to join the armed forces in a voluntary capacity and that the country must prepare them for potential threats.
