  • Awesome Industry Insights!

My production company (Phalanx Film Co.) had the honor of being featured on Ep. 80 and I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation with Kyrill and Dario. I honestly thought it would be more of a networking opportunity with other creatives (in terms of the podcast audience), but to my surprise, posting the pod... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#110 New Years Goals, Growth, & Gen AI (ft. Signature Video Group)
Q: How do you avoid over-committing and over-scaling when a big year appears on the horizon?
Keep a strong freelancer roster, resist over-hiring, and only scale up when there is clear, booked workload that can be fully covered, while protecting cash flow and maintaining quality.
#110 New Years Goals, Growth, & Gen AI (ft. Signature Video Group)
Q: What is on the horizon for 2026 for Signature Video Group and the guests here?
Chris explains a focus on refining their identity, telling a differentiating story, and maintaining momentum with a cautious approach to growth, balanced with ongoing marketing and client relationship work.
#105 Systems, Margins & Mindset (ft. 6 STRONG MEDIA)
Q: How did Kris structure margins and pricing to stay competitive yet profitable?
He built a cost budget for each project, then added a target margin, using a spreadsheet-driven approach to quote consistently. Time spent in pre-production and creative direction is costed, but he also allows for donated time when it helps win the job, balancing margin with competitive pricing.
#111 Filming Under Fire (ft. Highlight Films)
Q: How did you navigate a period of war and massive staff redeployments while keeping projects on track?
You build a back-office coordination unit, switch to real-time updates via apps, and rely on a trusted pool of fixers and remote coordination to adapt quickly without compromising safety or client expectations.
