Reviews

4.9 out of 5 stars from 46 ratings
  • What really is creamed corn?

Colin has done an amazing job at collaborating with the Twin Peaks community and connecting to many of people and voices who carry on the legacy started by Lynch and Frost over 30 years ago. But who is the man behind the curtain? Is there a bigger being walking among all these stars within the Twin Peaks universe? The mystery lives on, and with the help of Colin and his guests, spreads like wisteria through the air waves.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Laura Palmer (And Her Angel)
Q: Was the deleted Doc Hayward scene with the angels essential for the film's arc or was it better removed from Fire Walk With Me?
The speakers acknowledge the deleted scene adds foreshadowing and a sustained optimistic thread, but cultural and tonal reasons may have led Lynch to remove it to preserve a bleaker, more ambiguous ending and avoid over-telegraphing the angelic resolution.
Laura Palmer (And Her Angel)
Q: Do you think there's a particular origin to the angel beyond Phoebe Augustine and her initial apprehension of the role?
The origin seems to be tied to how Lynch and the diary writers conceptualize angels as both symbolic and narratively instrumental; while Phoebe Augustine played an origin point, the broader symbolism adapts across scenes to reflect Laura's evolving trauma and the potential for grace or deliverance.
Why I Love Twin Peaks
Q: When did you first discover Twin Peaks and what hooked you?
Colin explains discovering the original series several years after its release, drawn in by the pilot, the mystery of Laura Palmer, and the show's bold aesthetic that stood out from late-80s/early-90s TV.
Caroline Earle
Q: What do you think the significance of the death mask is in relation to Caroline's character?
The death mask reflects the violations Windom Earle imposes on Cooper and symbolizes the haunting memories of Caroline's death, showcasing how her legacy continues to affect Cooper.
Caroline Earle
Q: How do you think Caroline's character influenced Dale Cooper's actions throughout the series?
Caroline's death acts as a crux for Cooper’s character, influencing his sense of responsibility and how he interacts with other characters like Audrey. It suggests that his experiences with loss drive his actions, especially regarding women.
