  • Great show

I subscribe to a lot of true crime shows, but this is my absolute favorite-fair, informative and, at times, even funny, but never in a mean or disrespectful way. If you want to learn and keep informed, definitely the show for you!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

LIVE! Nancy Guthrie: Why Is This Mystery Still Unsolved?
Q: Why did this case drag on for so long without solid leads even after 100 days?
A combination of jurisdictional complexity, evolving forensics strategies, and delayed access to key digital evidence created a slower-than-ideal path to resolution, with media and political pressures adding to the challenge.
LIVE! What REALLY Happened in Tyler Robinson’s Hearing? 31 Motions Filed By Barry Morphew's Defense, Ebony Parker Trial Almost a Mistrial and More!
Q: How do you see the media coverage affecting the case and jury perception?
The guests argue that media coverage is pervasive and influential, but emphasize the need for the court to manage information and for jurors to base verdicts on in-court evidence rather than public narratives.
LIVE! What REALLY Happened in Tyler Robinson’s Hearing? 31 Motions Filed By Barry Morphew's Defense, Ebony Parker Trial Almost a Mistrial and More!
Q: What are your impressions of Judge Tony Graff's handling of the hearings?
The host suggests the judge is deliberate and cautious due to the high level of scrutiny; decisions often evolve through multiple hearings, reflecting a careful approach to ensure due process.
LIVE! Luigi Mangione Key Evidence STAYS, Alex Murdaugh Sues the Clerk, Disturbing Details in Larry Millete Trial and More!
Q: What is the strategic value of pursuing a civil right's claim against Becky Hill in this context?
Julia explains that pursuing civil damages can pressure the clerk and associated entities, potentially uncovering broader misconduct and securing accountability, even if it doesn't guarantee substantial monetary recovery. The discussion also considers the role of insurance and possible limits on liability.
Ep 106: Weekly Roundup: D4VD's Courtroom Battle, Caleb Flynn's Jury to See Murder Scene, Kristin Smart Update and More!
Q: What is the significance of 'lying in wait' in first-degree murder in this case?
Lying in wait signals premeditation and planning, extending beyond mere physical action to include the mental state and steps leading to the killing, which supports first-degree murder charges with aggravated circumstances.
