  • Musicians interviewed by a musician! Listen to this.

First thing. The guy Squires is a great interviewer. He knows how to hang with the musicians and seems to ask questions they do not always get. Not gotcha or shockers but relationship building questions. The music part of the Riffs is always fun too. What will they do?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 300 Robb Benson (Planets In The Ocean/Dear John Letters)
Q: Has she flown since?
Darla has flown since, but with difficulties due to her ear condition; she can fly but requires careful management of sound and packing, and will travel primarily to Wisconsin in July for family reasons.
Ep 295 Brian McClelland (Filth Is Eternal)
Q: When does the record come out?
The new album Impossible World is scheduled for release on March 17th on Monarch Heavy, marking the band's fourth full-length release, with videos already released and additional videos planned.
Ep 295 Brian McClelland (Filth Is Eternal)
Q: What are your plans to support the record?
They planned a West Coast tour with friends and a couple of other bands, with additional dates on the East Coast later in the year and a European run in the fall, plus continued production and release of videos to promote the album.
Ep 295 Brian McClelland (Filth Is Eternal)
Q: How did Filth Is Eternal come together?
Filth Is Eternal grew out of the Dbeat/DIY ethos Brian had been exploring after He Who Zocks Is Gore, moving toward a leaner, more immediate sound with punk roots while preserving heavy, thrashy elements. The band solidified over time with lineup changes but stayed focused on creating aggressive, catchy material and maintaining a strong live energy.
Ep 293 Jen Ayers (SHe Said)
Q: What would you tell someone who found themselves in the situation that you were in?
Take it slow, love your person, love yourself, and keep talking.
