Great assortment of guests. Thanks for all the NW legends.
Mike does great, laid back interviews, mostly with musicians but even the ones who weren’t are is really interesting people. Check out his Couch Riff music videos as well. They’re incredible!
The Whitfield Crane epsidole was 👌
First thing. The guy Squires is a great interviewer. He knows how to hang with the musicians and seems to ask questions they do not always get. Not gotcha or shockers but relationship building questions. The music part of the Riffs is always fun too. What will they do?

Couch Riffs gravitates toward in-depth, guitar-centric conversations with musicians from Seattle and the broader indie/punk/rock scenes. Episodes often cover touring life, songwriting, personal resilience, and the evolution of bands across decades, with a strong emphasis on community, DIY culture, and authentic storytelling. Notable strengths include hosts who connect with guests on a personal level, a laid-back interview style that feels like a private jam session, and a mix of veteran scene figures and rising artists that keeps the dialogue fresh for listeners who crave genuine industry insights and musician-centric anecdotes.
