  • Random ads

I enjoy the Cost of Living. However, I dislike the ad placements. Right in the middle of a story, an ad seems to be jammed in a la YouTube. If you want to run ads, do them at reasonable transition points… not without warning when they’ll completely break the flow of the story in progress.

Is Artificial Intelligence the mother of all bubbles?
Q: What makes AI a potential bubble?
Will Quinn explains that AI fits the model of a bubble due to its marketability, the money available for investment, and the speculative narratives surrounding it.
Why do booze-free drinks cost nearly as much as the real thing? (And other mysteries solved!)
Q: When I travel to another country and use a credit card there, the reader always asks me if I want to pay in local currency like, say, if I'm in Europe, if I want to pay in euros or in Canadian dollars, which one will ultimately cost me less?
It's typically cheaper to pay in the local currency; paying in Canadian dollars incurs extra fees that can be significant.

Q: Do you have any sense of how well or poorly Canada does at navigating our way through these kinds of big changes?
Canada has been slow to adopt technology and there is a need for Canadian companies to embrace AI to compete effectively.
What's creative destruction? Buckle up. We're living through it
Q: What should I study? What kind of job should I do that is going to be somewhat AI proof?
Students should expect to keep learning and be good at using AI to make themselves more productive, as job requirements will change over time.
What's creative destruction? Buckle up. We're living through it
Q: As you look at creative destruction and you look at artificial intelligence, how do you see things playing out?
AI will bring extraordinary benefits, but it will not lift all boats equally; there will be challenges for people left behind.
