Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why Does People-First Content Build Stronger Brands Than Brand Messaging?
Q: So, Beka, what we decided to talk about today is putting people at the center of brand storytelling. Why do you think people-centered content resonates more than brand-first messaging?
There are two big reasons: it makes the brand more visible through people, especially in crowded spaces, and it builds trust because real customers and employees share concrete experiences, which feels more authentic than promotional copy.
How Do You Build a Content Engine Around Real Customer Voices?
Q: How are you amplifying the distribution of that story in different formats and places?
The approach is to create one strong set of assets and then slice them into multiple formats—short and long forms, video, quotes, and imagery—so they can be deployed across social, email, websites, and print materials.
How Do You Build a Content Engine Around Real Customer Voices?
Q: So how did you first see the impact of putting customers at the center of the story?
Carol describes how her early radio work celebrated community voices, which naturally built trust and engagement; the technique translated from broadcasting to marketing by giving audiences a platform and authentic connections.
How Do You Build a Content Engine That Actually Drives Revenue?
Q: What should content teams focus on when planning their quarter?
Start with who you're serving, what you want to change for them, and the promises you will deliver, then tie each promise to a concrete revenue moment and establish a no-go list to prevent scope creep.
How Can First-Party Research Turn B2B Content Into a Scalable Growth Engine?
Q: How has AI influenced your workflow and the use of first-party data in reporting?
AI helps with refining sentence structure and finding supporting third-party data points, but it does not reliably synthesize or publish core research numbers due to potential inaccuracies; first-party data remains central and trusted for the reports.
