  • Very informative

Thank you for this brilliant and informative episodes about the Iran. I live in Europe and have come across your talk through an article in an Israeli medium and have immediately listen to the last 6 episodes. And I can tell you: you know sooo much more than these so-called experts I get in Europe! 👍🏼

  • Is this guy serious?

It’s painful watching the Saudi lobbyist squirm as the war he so eagerly championed begins to unravel.

His mandate seems obvious: expand Gulf/Saudi/ Sunni hierarchal hegemony. Yet after a month of conflict, these states look less like regional powers and more like fragile facades—duty-free malls propped up by imported labor and increasingly strained air defenses.

Of course, the reality is simpler. Ayman is bought and paid for. His knowledge base is immense, undeniably valuable, but it’s striki... more

  • A rather partial perspective

The hosts admit that they’re of a GCC/Trump/Israeli perspective, so it’s interesting if you’d like to understand current situations from those points of view.

They’re not the most self aware and take an essentially light hearted about bloodshed and terror, so long as it’s against their perceived enemies or ordinary people, which can at times be a difficult listen.

Some very interesting guests, though rarely a female voice or perspective but that’s not a surprising blind spot, given their proud... more

  • Mendacious rude nonsense

Distasteful jokes about blowing up women, brazen untruths about the war situation, absurd attempts to justify bloodshed and war crimes. Even Hitler comparisons, like it’s 1985. I can’t believe people take the commentator at face value.

  • Mad Analysis of Iran

Taking Kharg island will be a cake walk. Okay.

US hands control of the gulf to Iran. 4D chess. Okay.

I’m all for hearing two sides of an argument but lay off taking your own supply.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sir Vince Cable: The Crisis of Liberal Democracy
Q: What is the difference between a super state and a superpower, and is China more of a super state than India?
Cable explains that super states are economically massive and influential but not necessarily militarily dominant, with China and India as central examples; he highlights that China seeks global reach and economic influence while maintaining different levels of military power compared to the US, and argues for a vocabulary that reflects this new geopolitical reality.
Sir Vince Cable: The Crisis of Liberal Democracy
Q: Hello, Sir Vince. It's so nice to meet you.
Cable discusses his background, including his early career in Kenya and post-colonial development, and explains how those experiences ground his views on global economics and democracy.
The True Origins of Modern Terrorism
Q: Why did different militant movements converge around a common repertoire of violence in the 1960s and 1970s?
They shared a global moment of revolutionary energy, embraced media to amplify their messages, and were shaped by both local grievances and international ideologies, which led to overlapping tactics across left-wing and Islamist groups.
Iran War: Will the Ceasefire Hold?
Q: What is the likelihood the two-week ceasefire will hold given the ceasefire violations and regional tensions?
The guests suggest that while a temporary pause is possible, significant violations and Lebanon's contentious status, plus inconsistent messaging between Pakistan and Iran, make a lasting halt unlikely without credible, verifiable concessions and coordinated action among all major stakeholders.
CC: Burcu Ozcelik – The End of the PKK & Turkey’s Great Game
Q: Tell us what drew you to research on the Kurdish issue and the PKK.
Burcu explains that studying the Kurdish issue is essential to understanding Turkey's domestic policies and foreign relations, given the longstanding struggle, the evolution from militant activity to rights-based claims, and the ways in which Kurds interact with NATO partners and regional powers.
