Jeff Haas | Vector Comics | Comic Crusaders Podcast #655
Q: How do you decide where to invest energy during the creation process?
The creation part is rewarding and where the author shines, but the visual storytelling—working closely with the artist and trusting their strengths—is crucial to bring the world to life.
Jeff Haas | Vector Comics | Comic Crusaders Podcast #655
Q: What stage hits you the hardest in a Kickstarter campaign?
The emotional roller coaster of a 30-day campaign is the toughest part, with the highs of backers and funding followed by lows; staying steady and trusting the quality of your work helps you ride it out.
Simon Furman | Return to Skull Island | Comic Crusaders Podcast #658
Q: What moment did you realize this isn't just comics anymore, this is mythology you created within that universe?
The shift happened most clearly when I worked on the ultimate guide to Transformers in 2004, realizing that the ideas I'd introduced were living on and could be expanded with new layers that fans could latch onto, effectively turning the work into a broader mythos.
Brian Stivale | Voice of Prophet Samuel in Angel Studios' DAVID | Comic Crusaders Podcast #663
Q: When audiences leave the film, what feeling do you hope they carry from Samuel's voice and the overall story?
Hope and affirmation of personal purpose, with a sense that anyone could face giants in their own lives and rise with courage and faith.
Brian Stivale | Voice of Prophet Samuel in Angel Studios' DAVID | Comic Crusaders Podcast #663
Q: What part of Samuel's arc surprised you the most as an actor, given how the character was written and directed?
He highlights the balance between spiritual weight and human warmth, noting how Samuel's mentorship and tough love were crafted to serve the film's narrative arc without losing emotional resonance.
