  • Love it!

I really appreciate what these gentlemen do! The sensitivity they have to victims is genuine. I hope in the future they do more unsolved missing or murdered cases. To help get tips in those cases. I feel their profiling expertise is needed in those cases. I enjoyed listening to the Lisa buziak case even though the dad was tough to listen too. You guys did great in that situation and it was definitely noticed by me.

  • Based on Ep 1. Audio was SO bad I bailed.

The opening is obnoxious with the telephone ringing five times. Then the female host could barely be heard. I gave it a few minutes to grab me, and with the volume at full-tilt was not happy. Tell me it gets better and I might pickup later episodes. Sound is everything in podcasting. No self-agrandizing. No pumping-up your castmates. Tell a super story.

Talking Points

Allison Hope Weiner Exposes Truth Behind Courtroom Narratives
Q: How do you balance telling a compelling story with respecting the integrity of a courtroom process?
She emphasizes requiring multiple sources, avoiding leaps based on single leaks, and recognizing that the courtroom demands careful, verifiable information rather than sensational speculation.
Allison Hope Weiner Exposes Truth Behind Courtroom Narratives
Q: What drew you to high-profile cases early in your career and how did that shape your approach to reporting?
Weiner explains that her legal background, coupled with a quest to uncover unseen details, pushed her toward rigorous, evidence-based reporting and a willingness to challenge prevailing narratives.
Inside the World of Polygraph and Criminal Profiling
Q: How accurate are polygraphs when performed by a trained examiner?
They are between 90% and 95% accurate, with some individuals not showing physiological responses, but generally reliable when conducted properly and interpreted carefully with corroborating evidence.
Cold Red Special: James R Fitzgerald on The Unabomber Arrest.
Q: Has the abductor profile evolved as the investigation progresses beyond the critical first 28 days?
The hosts explain that while early days drive leads, the core behavioral characteristics remain relevant; profiles are refined with new information but don't drastically overhaul the fundamental pre- and post-offense traits.
Cold Red Special: James R Fitzgerald on The Unabomber Arrest.
Q: Why did law enforcement withhold ransom details in the Nancy Guthrie case, and would publicizing them help the case?
They withheld ransom details to protect the victim, avoid signaling to suspects or copycats, preserve investigative strategy, and maintain legal/procedural integrity; publicizing a ransom could complicate prosecutions and endanger the victim.
