  • Not 5 good things

I followed “5 good things” to escape mainstream news for a change. I really resent that you ended that feed and folded “Good Things” into this feed with mainstream news. I’m unfollowing this.

  • No longer my go to

I used to listen to this podcast every morning, but since they have had Kate on the morning podcast, I can’t do it. It’s a news podcast so I can do without the commentary. Also, she’s constantly fumbling over her words. Also, is there a video version of this because she often talks about video content but WE CANT SEE IT!! This is a podcast! Please replace her so I can go back to listening in the morning.

  • WTF, CNN?! STOP downplaying ISRAEL's GENOCIDE!!!!🤯🇮🇱

CNN's One Thing episode on whether progressive s criticism of Israel has "Gone Too Far" ...is DISGRACEFUL!🤨 And the entire right-wing-corporate campaign to ignore & deny the internationally recognized FACT that ISRAEL is committing GENOCIDE. is just DISGUSTINGLY IMMORAL. 🤮

  • Fire Kate Plz!!

This is my favorite news app, it has been for years. Every time Kate Balduan hosts I have to fast forward. She can’t read her scripts without fumbling over her words over and over. She’s so hard to listen to.

  • In decline

I used to enjoy this podcast. Quick snippets of the top stories that I could receive a “briefing, so to speak.” Then changes started. Initially they reduced the number of broadcasts from five to three times per day. That was fine. I thought it would reduce repetition. Then they started using audio from a TV spot in the morning with entertainment style music and frequent “look at this!” comments that leave a listener wanting. Also, can the reporters/producers not listen to earlier broadcasts and ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

One Thing: Did Trump Cuts Slow the Cyclospora Outbreak Response?
Q: What guidance can consumers follow during outbreaks?
Consumers are advised to be cautious with high-risk produce, consider buying whole heads of lettuce rather than bagged, and stay informed about recalls and open investigations while understanding that not all products are implicated.
One Thing: Did Trump Cuts Slow the Cyclospora Outbreak Response?
Q: What does the Food Safety Modernization Act aim to change in how produce is monitored?
FSMA emphasizes prevention and traceability, requiring industry to prevent contamination and enabling regulators to trace products back through the supply chain to respond quickly to outbreaks.
One Thing: Did Trump Cuts Slow the Cyclospora Outbreak Response?
Q: Why might regulatory delays and cuts affect outbreak containment?
Delays in implementing traceability rules and reduced staffing in key agencies hamper rapid traceback and response, making it harder to identify and isolate sources of contamination and coordinate recalls.
Colombia Earthquake Rescue, Severe Storm Forecast, Rare Sky Event and more
Q: What are the immediate priorities in Colombia after the earthquake?
Emergency response focuses on rescuing survivors, providing food and medical aid, and coordinating with authorities to assess damaged areas and deploy relief quickly.
One Thing: Some AI Leaders Want to Pump the Brakes. It Too Late?
Q: Tell me more about this Trump administration review process. You said it would be voluntary?
The process is designed to be voluntary, not mandatory, inviting frontier models to be reviewed 30 days before public release to give the government a heads up and allow collaboration on potential risk factors, while avoiding a hard regulatory mandate.
