Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

She's building a company to solve America's caregiving crisis 3/24/26
Q: What is the concept of 'slow time' and how does it fit into your leadership?
Slow time is unprogrammed, unstructured time with family that prevents burnout and keeps me grounded. I don't schedule it rigidly, but I under-schedule weekends and carve out moments during the week to be present—this balance preserves energy and clarity for strategic decisions and mission-driven work.
She's building a company to solve America's caregiving crisis 3/24/26
Q: How did you handle fundraising pushback in the early days?
There was substantial skepticism about caregiving as a scalable market. I used resilience from personal experience, storytelling backed by a data-driven view of the market, and a relentless focus on how big the opportunity could be, including potential integration with Medicare and employer channels, which gradually changed investor perceptions.
She's building a company to solve America's caregiving crisis 3/24/26
Q: What's your leadership superpower?
My strongest leadership skill is knowing when to go to the right person with the right question, leveraging mentors, advisors, and investors who truly understand our space. This approach has helped us navigate complex decisions about backup care, childcare, and new lines of business, and it keeps us aligned with the mission while scaling.
She's building a company to solve America's caregiving crisis 3/24/26
Q: What was the pivot from direct-to-consumer to employer-focused services?
We began with direct-to-consumer private pay to learn caregivers' needs firsthand. An early feedback moment came from an HR professional who suggested making Wellthy an employee benefit, which opened the door to helping organizations support their caregivers at scale and broaden access beyond what families could afford on their own.
She's building a company to solve America's caregiving crisis 3/24/26
Q: Tell us how your experience in caregiving inspired you to launch Wellthy.
My personal caregiving journey, especially caring for my mom who had MS for nearly 30 years, showed me how hard it is for families to navigate care and maintain work and life. After a long process of building up the nerve and recognizing the broad need, I started Wellthy to turn that personal mission into a scalable solution that helps both individuals and employers support caregivers.
