  • Down to Earth and Down to Business

Matt and Dylan have quickly become two of my favorite cohosts. I love how the format is set up and allows me to sit a the table as they discuss topics you only learn about after years of trial and bumpy roads.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

105 - Losing Our Center (w/ Ryan Summers)
Q: What makes a compelling demo reel in today's environment?
A strong reel should tell a complete story, showcase pacing and lighting understanding, and ideally include narrative elements or personal voice that reveal who you are as a creator, not just a montage of assignments.
105 - Losing Our Center (w/ Ryan Summers)
Q: How should studios position themselves in relation to clients and tools like AI?
studios should strive to be partners rather than vendors, use AI thoughtfully to augment capabilities, and communicate a clear voice and vision to attract the right opportunities and mitigate being treated as a commodity.
105 - Losing Our Center (w/ Ryan Summers)
Q: What happened to the center or shared hub for motion design?
There used to be curated spaces like Vimeo staff picks and Art of the Title that created a common language; now conversations are scattered across many platforms, making it harder for new voices to rise and for the industry to reflect on its history.
