It is safe to say that I have wandered a bit. I served in the military, flew some jets, jumped out of most, climbed mountains (I jumped off of them too), taught fitness, owned a gym, and have spent the last few years speaking to organizations and leaders. It has been a journey, and in all honesty, I have no idea where it is going. I seek the things that make me uncomfortable. I move towards things... more

Great podcast good episode except you forgot to mention a few facts. As a former Marine and former LEO, there is an important part of the discussion you left out. There is a lack of Local LE support during the sweeps especially in the sanctuary cities, which causes the disruption . The immigration enforcement turns into riot control due to lack of LE unity. Don’t put the blame on LE the blame goes to the decision makers.

Windshield, Not the Rearview Mirror | Full Auto Friday | 4.17.2026
Q: What is the best way to respond when someone compliments or questions your service without turning the conversation into a debate?
Acknowledge the comment succinctly (e.g., 'thanks, I'm doing the best I can'), briefly share your current focus, and then shift to asking about the other person to sustain a positive, balanced conversation.
42-Year-Old Privates in the Army and the Purpose of Struggle | Full Auto Friday | 4.3.2026
Q: What should aspiring service members consider before joining at an older age?
Understand why you want to join, align with the military's deterrent-to-war role, assess your willingness to adapt to potentially different battle spaces, and recognize that you may have a different role later in your career.
42-Year-Old Privates in the Army and the Purpose of Struggle | Full Auto Friday | 4.3.2026
Q: Will there be an age shift in the military if they push to a 20-year retirement due to an older average enlistment age?
The shift would likely affect some career tracks more than others, with some roles leveraging maturity and experience while others face physical and recovery constraints; overall policy would require careful criteria and end-state definitions.
42-Year-Old Privates in the Army and the Purpose of Struggle | Full Auto Friday | 4.3.2026
Q: The army increasing their max enlistment age to 42. What are your thoughts on this change and its feasibility for different roles?
There could be value in bringing in seasoned professionals in certain career fields where experience and judgment enhance performance, but for infantry or front-line roles, the physical demands and recovery considerations at 42 are significant; not all pipelines would be open, and it would depend on the role and individual capability.
The Monster Might Be a Sock Puppet | Full Auto Friday | 3.20.2026
Q: How do I begin to break the paralysis by analysis and build momentum in daily life?
Begin with small, repeatable actions (e.g., 20-minute daily walks for 30 days), track progress, gradually increase load, and seek expert help to develop strategies that fit your life.
