Leadership

It is safe to say that I have wandered a bit. I served in the military, flew some jets, jumped out of most, climbed mountains (I jumped off of them too), taught fitness, owned a gym, and have spent the last few years speaking to organizations and leaders. It has been a journey, and in all honesty, I have no idea where it is going. I seek the things that make me uncomfortable. I move towards things... more

  • Overcooked and dry.

Not gonna hear anything original here. Boring miltainmemt. It’s a common recipe these days. Military service, a few base jumps, shake and pour over current events. Comes out lookin and tastin like the diarrhea they serve all over town. This space is shrinking and you idiots are all balls deep in each others hack ideology.

Evolving at the Speed of War | Full Auto Friday | 7.24.2026
Q: How have the last 20 years of conflict sharpened U.S. capabilities for war, and is ongoing engagement necessary?
The long conflict period has produced a more lethal, precise, and globally distributed force, though the necessity of ongoing engagement is nuanced and context-dependent; better to stay adaptable rather than dogmatic about past tactics.
Evolving at the Speed of War | Full Auto Friday | 7.24.2026
Q: How do two leaders stop competing and start complimenting at home?
Keep leadership at work, be complementary at home, avoid bearing down with a measuring tape, and bring in third-party help if needed to restore objectivity.
Evolving at the Speed of War | Full Auto Friday | 7.24.2026
Q: Alpha females. What does dating look like from your perspective for two strong personalities?
Two strong, independent people can build a relationship by embracing complementary strengths, ensuring there is safety, appreciation, and space for vulnerability, rather than competition.
Over, Under, Around, or Through | Full Auto Friday | 7.10.2026
Q: Question two, I've listened to your podcast since the beginning and have read your book. I've also written to you a couple of times over the years, and you've been kind enough to respond. Most recently, it was about Jiu-Jitsu, and then a couple years ago about the Lahaina fires, which I've heard they're slowly starting to rebuild, but that was gnarly. I have a question about your communication style and humor.
The host discusses the use of targeted humor to diffuse tension, how it can build trust when used appropriately, and the risks of misapplying humor; he notes it's not a guaranteed tactic and emphasizes balancing emotion with logic in conversations.
Over, Under, Around, or Through | Full Auto Friday | 7.10.2026
Q: Question number one. Andy, I was introduced to you from a friend's recommendation to read your book. Then I found your podcast and cannot stop listening. Fellow brother in arms, Armie from 01 to 06. The book is awesome. Some of it helped me to realize I am not special, but also that I am not alone. Some of it just has great insights, a way of thinking or looking at a situation I would have never thought of on my own. So thank you, you're very welcome.
The host reinforces the book's goal of relatable, practical insights that resonate with real-life struggles, emphasizing that even if everything isn't revelatory, a single resonant section can have meaningful impact.
