It is safe to say that I have wandered a bit. I served in the military, flew some jets, jumped out of most, climbed mountains (I jumped off of them too), taught fitness, owned a gym, and have spent the last few years speaking to organizations and leaders. It has been a journey, and in all honesty, I have no idea where it is going. I seek the things that make me uncomfortable. I move towards things... more

  • Overcooked and dry.

Not gonna hear anything original here. Boring miltainmemt. It’s a common recipe these days. Military service, a few base jumps, shake and pour over current events. Comes out lookin and tastin like the diarrhea they serve all over town. This space is shrinking and you idiots are all balls deep in each others hack ideology.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are Police Academies Failing Cops? | Dennis Benigno | Ep. 450
Q: What are the core competencies and why should training shift toward a passenger-side approach and other modern methods?
There is a push to replace outdated, aggressive, and overly centralized styles with training that emphasizes constitutional law, de-escalation, and safer roadside interactions, including practical algorithms like keeping hands visible, verbal communication, and using updated tech-driven tools, with an emphasis on real-world applicability rather than performative 'advanced' training.
Are Police Academies Failing Cops? | Dennis Benigno | Ep. 450
Q: How did the current police academy system originate and why hasn't it changed much?
The guest traces the academies back to military boot camps led by special forces-type figures, arguing the system is built on box-checking rather than practical, constitutional training; despite calls for reform, change is slow due to entrenched interests, politics, and leadership cultures resistant to distruptive new approaches.
Rewiring the Brain After War | Jonathan Dickinson | Ep. 449
Q: How do you view the integration with the traditional healthcare system?
The guest emphasizes a cultural and rite-of-passage approach, arguing that evidence-based medicine alone cannot capture the full picture and that scalable models must preserve the ritual and community aspects to be effective.
Rewiring the Brain After War | Jonathan Dickinson | Ep. 449
Q: What are the safety concerns and how are they managed?
There is careful screening for cardiac risks, dosing considerations, monitoring in a cardiac ICU-equivalent setup, and contingencies for interactions with other medications, along with gradual dosing and post-treatment monitoring.
Rewiring the Brain After War | Jonathan Dickinson | Ep. 449
Q: What does the five-day program look like for veterans?
The program includes medical screening, a bonding exercise like a Temazcal sweat lodge, preparatory breathing and coping tools, a structured Ibogaine phase at night, and a recovery day with integration and optional 5-MeO-DMT, all designed to balance safety with experiential depth.
