  • Phenomenal

The only thing I hate about this podcast is that there’s not very many episodes, and that’s because the host is probably out there in real life, far too busy synthesizing tryptamines for fun, or out in a damp forest hunting rare fungi. You’ll find his passion for chemistry contagious and the subjects and interviews fascinating. He’s not just highly intelligent, he’s articulate and a great interviewer. I absolutely love this podcast.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

THE FUTURE OF FUNGI with ALAN ROCKEFELLER
Q: How do you best avoid it [poisoning] and have you ever had any accidental exposure to toxic mushrooms?
It's not very much of a concern these days, because it's so easy to get your mushrooms identified. The poisonous mushrooms all kind of group together and the edible mushrooms all kind of group together.
Hamilton Morris and Amanda Feilding have a 🔥 FIRESIDE CHAT 🔥
Q: Could you take me through the history of your own involvement with trepanation?
I had a long history involving experimenting with LSD and eventually trepanation itself, which I approached out of intellectual curiosity and a desire to explore consciousness.
Jordan Rubin on the bizarre history of the Federal Analog Act
Q: What led to the downfall of the proprietors of Zensense ultimately?
They fought the case and didn’t roll over for the government, ultimately leading to their conviction.
Jordan Rubin on the bizarre history of the Federal Analog Act
Q: How was it that the proprietors of Zensense were not protected?
Because it's common sense, and even if they put 'not for human consumption' on their products, prosecutors could still argue they were drug dealers.
Jordan Rubin on the bizarre history of the Federal Analog Act
Q: What made them a little bit different?
They were really trying to play by the rules, so much so that they were totally transparent with law enforcement.
