This isn’t deeply researched - no new information. Old cases you can find on Wiki, with inaccuracies about the cities. The writing is filled with cliches. I wondered if it was half written by AI.
I’ve been watching the old episodes on Tubi and I really like the narrator. He makes the show. This isn’t it. It’s the exact same words but not as interesting. 95-05 best episodes. I’m from SC and my grandmother graduated from newberry college, I’ve heard this story all my life. But OMG I didn’t know we sounded like that
Just listened to the tragic killing of a Canadian girl in Bermuda. If I haven’t heard this 10-year old case a thousand times, I haven’t heard it at all. City Confidential should be renamed City Recycling, because they can’t do an original story.
All these episodes are available on Roku or Tubi for free. Theres approximately 20 or so episodes thats A&E hasn’t released since the show went off air in 2005. 98-2005 were the good seasons; anything after is not in the same style
Looking forward to each new episode. Many thanks.

Each episode stitches together investigative reporting, interviews with people close to the case, and archival material to illuminate how a single crime reverberates through a city's culture, politics, and daily life. The show often covers a wide geographic spread and a mix of eras, offering nuanced portraits of victims, suspects, and the communities that remember them with a noir-tinged, documentary approach. Noteworthy angles include the social dynamics surrounding high-profile cases, the role of local institutions, and the enduring legacy those crimes leave on a place's memory and identity.
