Philly’s Mexican Food Renaissance
Q: How are chefs sourcing ingredients to keep dishes authentic?
Chefs source ingredients from Mexico or nearby vendors, with options including in-house masa production and local farms to recreate traditional dishes while adapting to what's available locally.
Philly’s Mexican Food Renaissance
Q: Why do you think this moment is happening in the city?
The moment is driven by Mexican chefs trained in fine dining finally opening their own spots, plus a built-in Hispanic community and growing diner interest that embraces the diversity of Mexican cuisine.
Could SEPTA Be Your Next Landlord?
Q: Is Septa kind of banking on these developments to be a long-term solution to funding?
Yes, while not the sole solution, officials see these partnerships as a way to diversify revenue, bolster transit usage, and address past funding gaps by creating a steady stream from development surrounding stations.
Could SEPTA Be Your Next Landlord?
Q: Wait, does that mean Septa is going to be a landlord?
Not exactly a landlord in the traditional sense, but Septa would own the land and lease it to developers who would then pay Septa over the life of the contract, effectively generating revenue beyond fares.
The Deals, Delays & Drama in Harrisburg
Q: What else is happening on the campaign trail as this budget wraps up?
Garrity is positioning data centers as an attack on Shapiro, while Shapiro emphasizes accomplishments; a potential debate is being discussed, and the fundraising landscape suggests a pricey, national-leaning campaign environment that could touch on broader constitutional and policy questions.
