  • What’s with these ads?

Great podcast and great journalist in Hope. But on my, they’re squeezing the pips out of the 40 minutes or so, with several highly annoying 2 minute ads. As usual the ads are on a different volume level and I have to rip the ear pods out before my ear drums perforate. Why not have a 5 minute ads section at the beginning and leave the interviews free from interruptions? 3 stars instead of 5.

  • Magic Money Tree MMT

Long time reader on your work Chopper.

I do wish you would just mention the the government spends then taxes it back money, not taxes then spends.

The government is the only Authority to create money, otherwise it’s counterfeit.

This narrative of tax before spend allows the government to say we can’t afford it.

Have a look at Warren Moseley work on MMT it’s a podcast.

Even if you just raise it on the podcast it’s a start.

    All the best.

Christopher Hope has a great interviewing style - relaxed questioning which always gets the best out of the guests. His interview with Charlie Peters is one of the best podcasts I’ve heard.

  • Overdue comment

Dear Mr Chopper, I voted for Brexit and took quite a Lo in f flak from friends and colleagues. Instinctively I thought it was a matter to f democracy and I even felt that if it meant short term economic pain, it was still worth it because the EU was not capable of admitting and mistakes and we would be taken down with At some point. I’ve wobbled recently but listening to the Portuguese diplomat has steeled my resolve. Smug, lazy, overpaid and specifically believes that he is steering things in t... more

How Andy Burnham could OVERTHROW Keir Starmer to take the keys to Downing Street
Q: What are the historical precedents for defenestration of leaders within political parties?
Prime Ministers have been ousted not by formal votes of confidence but by losing party support and pressure from within, as seen in cases of recent leaders.
How Andy Burnham could OVERTHROW Keir Starmer to take the keys to Downing Street
Q: How would Andy Burnham actually get rid of Keir Starmer, given that he's not in Parliament?
Burnham would need to resign as mayor, win a Westminster seat, have colleagues nominate him, and then defeat Starmer, which presents multiple significant hurdles.
Reform would take UK to a "very dark place" says Sir Mel Stride as he rules out merger with Tories
Q: Is it time that Liz Truss left your party?
It's not for me to opine on whether anybody should be in the party or not, but we need to show we are the grown-ups in the room.
Reform would take UK to a "very dark place" says Sir Mel Stride as he rules out merger with Tories
Q: Can you imagine any kind of merger with that party?
No, I would not support a merger with a party that is fiscally irresponsible and would take this country into a very dark place.
Sir Keir Starmer has 'questions to answer' over CPS failures over grooming gangs, says Chris Philp
Q: Do you think Keir Starmer might be nervous about his record as DPP in this?
I think he might be.
