  • The GOAT Reds Show

I have listened to Nick’s Reds Takes since he started the “Late Night Reds” show back a few years ago. I have been a loyal listener to Chatterbox Reds since its inception and let me tell you - there is no better Reds coverage anywhere! Nick and Trace provide great in-depth analysis of each game and the different moments throughout the season and off-season. They have a good blend of optimism/realism and tell you how it is. They also have good fill in hosts (Craig, Mike, Greg, etc). If you’re loo... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Game 9 - Reds 2, Rangers 1 (Reds SWEEP Rangers in Texas!)
Q: When I say first major league save, how does that feel?
Burke describes it as a very special moment, especially against a team he previously played for, and emphasizes the significance of finishing the game for the team.
Game 7 - Reds 5, Rangers 3 (Tyler Stephenson 9th Inning Home Runs Lifts Reds!)
Q: What stood out to you most about Stephenson's ninth-inning at-bat?
The at-bat showed a patient approach, waiting for the right pitch, staying off the big misses, and finally turning on a mistake for a decisive, game-winning homer that energized the team and crowd.
Game 2 - Reds 6, Red Sox 5 (Dane Myers Walkoff Single For Reds FIRST Win of 2026)
Q: Terry, can you just kind of describe the difficulty of the situation on the bench like that on a cold day? Have you been able to come up with a win like that?
Yeah, under the circumstances everybody was pretty jazzed up and we battled through a tight game, made the plays when they counted, and found a way to win with a multi-inning effort from our bullpen and timely hitting from our hitters, especially late in extras.
ST G31 - Brewers 9, Reds 1 (Interview with Reds VP of Ticket Strategy & Operations Jacob Widerschein)
Q: Now that we have signed Eugenio Suárez, what does that mean from a business perspective for you guys in terms of additional revenue, and how do you model or forecast that impact?
We use an algorithmic model to forecast ticket sales based on many factors; while executive decision-making is separate from on-field rosters, Suárez has boosted season-ticket sales and generated promotional opportunities like a Suárez bobblehead, which in turn lifts attendance and ancillary revenue.
ST G31 - Brewers 9, Reds 1 (Interview with Reds VP of Ticket Strategy & Operations Jacob Widerschein)
Q: But ticket sales plays a bigger role in the payroll piece than maybe a lot of people understand. Could you give us just a brief overview of the overall business of the Reds and how tickets play into that?
There are five main revenue streams—tickets, sponsorships, broadcasting, food and merchandise, and MLB revenue sharing. Tickets drive several others because you need bodies in seats to realize revenue from concessions, merchandise, and experiences; promotions and the full ballpark environment amplify attendance and loyalty.
