Even ideas he disagrees with are explained in a way that the proponents of those ideas would approve of because he depicts the positions accurately. Rare. The occasional misrepresentation seems to be from a misreading rather than bad will. This guy is instructive, interesting and good for my blood pressure. Unfortunately, this approach is not likely to get thousands of partisans following him.
I am so glad to have found this podcast. I appreciate Alex’s voice and his centrist views. He takes a more nuanced approach to what is happening in the world today than most of the mainstream media does. We need more conversations like this, with views and opinions given in a kind and informed way. The length is great too, just enough info to really take it all in.

A little right, a little level, fully rational. I think Alex adds a lot to just trying to understand the craziness. He’s definitely biased against the trump movement, but he is right about the threat.
With how tribal and partisan our nation’s politics have become, it is nice to hear a perspective that wants to listen but also be critical. There’s a little bit of everything here and it is refreshing. We need to get back to a time where we can listen to differing opinions while still being able to be respectful.
