Q: Do pheromones have a place in managing this problem?
Pheromones can help some cases but are not a universal fix; use them as part of a broader approach after proper cleaning and odor neutralization.
What To Do About a Cat Who Pees Vertically Behind Himself?
Q: So what do you tell clients if they have a cat that backs up and spray marks?
Explain that this is marking behavior tied to territory, assess neutering status for completeness, check for medical issues, consider pheromone therapy, environmental enrichment, and, if needed, involve a veterinary behaviorist for a tailored plan.
“We’ll Prescribe You Another Cat.”
Q: Why do you think translated Japanese cat stories are so popular across many countries?
The themes of companionship, healing, and the idea that a mysterious aid (like a clinic) can appear when needed resonate universally, crossing language barriers and cultural lines.
“We’ll Prescribe You Another Cat.”
Q: What role does the rescue crisis in your area play in this episode's discussion?
It serves as a backdrop showing the dedication of volunteers and shelters, illustrating the practical realities of cat welfare beyond fiction, and highlighting how literature can mirror these efforts.
“We’ll Prescribe You Another Cat.”
